BeagleBone boards are open-source single-board computers produced by BeagleBoard.org. Unlike Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone was designed from the ground up for industrial and embedded applications — featuring two onboard Programmable Real-time Units (PRUs) that handle time-critical I/O tasks independently of the main CPU, making it suitable for motor control, robotics, and industrial automation.

BeagleBone Black and its variants run Debian Linux with no SD card required — an onboard eMMC holds the OS. The 92 GPIO pins (including UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, and PWM) make it one of the most I/O-rich SBCs available at its price point.
